If she really loves you just as much as you say she does, she will accept you no matter what. Real friends will always be there for you. In my opinion, being open and honest in a friendship is the best. Not only will you feel better in the long run and have a huge weight lifted off of your shoulders, but it’s also a good way to find who your true friends are. I was fortunate enough that all of my friends were very understanding and haven’t treated me any differently. I’m sorry that you’ve lost friends in the past, but she was clearly not worth your time. I truly believe that best friends stick together no matter what happens. Just be yourself. Don’t ever feel like you should have to hide yourself from people.
